Submitting an Assignment

If you have been asked to upload your assignment to Turnitin – your Teacher will have set up a submission point within the Blackboard course.

Locate the Submission point and click on it to open the Submission point

From the Turnitin Assignment Dashboard, select the Upload Submission button to make a submission to the assignment.

If the Upload Submission button is unavailable, you may be attempting to submit before the start date or after the due date. Select the assignment name at the top to check your assignment’s key dates and any additional settings that may be affecting your submission.

After click on Upload Submission you will see three types of submit options: Upload Submission, Text Input and Cloud Submission. We highly recommend the Upload Submission option.

If you are unsure of the file type you are uploading then click on the question mark next to Submission File and it will display the types of files that are accepted.

Once you have given your Submission Title a name (guidance on naming convention will be provided by your Teacher) – then you can either click on Browse to search your files or you can drag your file onto this area to accept it.

Once the file has been added – remember Turnitin only accepts ONE file submission to an assignment – then you can Upload and Review

The Upload and Review view allows you to see that you have uploaded the correct file. If you are OK with this then click on the Submit to Turnitin button

Please don’t leave this window – wait until you see a confirmation Submission Complete window to ensure everything is uploaded successfully.
