The delegated marking feature enables multiple markers or instructors to share the marking workload for a Blackboard Assignment or Test. Markers can be assigned to specific student groups, allowing them to grade only the submissions from those groups. This workflow is particularly useful for team marking and for assessments with large cohorts.
Delegated marking uses group sets to allocate students to markers and also supports anonymous submissions.
Things to note
- Markers can only view submissions from the groups assigned to them.
- Instructors or module administrators who are not assigned to a specific group can view all submissions.
- A group set must be created before markers can be assigned.
- If markers or marking allocations have not been finalised at the point assessment set up/creation, the ‘delegated marking’ option can be turned on, and markers can be assigned to groups after submissions have been made.
See guidance on Delegated Marking on Blackboard help site for more details.
