Download/Upload Marks

If you want offline records of student results for certain types of markable items, you can download and reupload the results as an Excel (XLS) file or a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

Download results

  1. In the Blackboard Gradebook page, select the Download Gradebook icon at the top right corner.
  2. In the Download Marks pane, ensure Full Gradebook is selected.
  3. If you wish to include hidden items, toggle Include Hidden Items.
  4. Select the assessment(s) you wish to download under Record details. Toggle Include feedback for selected item to ensure feedback details are included in the download.
  5. Select the File type and Save location. Press Download.
  6. The result file contains the following information:
    • Last name
    • First name
    • Username
    • Student ID
    • Last Access
    • Availability
    • [Assessment title] & Grade
    • Marking notes
    • Feedback to learner

Upload results

If you wish to do offline marking, you can download the Gradebook for the assessment item – using the steps above, add the grades, feedback in the spreadsheet and re-upload it to Learn Ultra Gradebook.

  1. Enter the grades under the [Assessment title] column, and the feedback under the Feedback to Learner column.
  2. You can format your feedback text using HTML tags if required.
  3. Save the file.
  4. To upload, select the Upload Gradebook icon at the top right corner.
  5. Drag and drop the file in the designated area or browse to select the file.
  6. Press Upload. Refresh the Gradebook page to view the changes. The assessment now should have updated grades and feedback.
