If you want offline records of student results for certain types of markable items, you can download and reupload the results as an Excel (XLS) file or a comma-separated values (CSV) file.
Download results for a single assessment
- In Gradebook grid view, click on the assessment name at the top of the column to open the Assessment details panel.
- Click on the download button and select Download Results from the menu.
- From the Download Results menu, select the File Type, both Excel spreadsheets and comma-separated values (CSV) formats are available.
- Select the Format of the Results, i.e. by student or by question and student.
- Select the Attempts to Download, i.e. all attempts or just the marked attempt.
- Click Download and then open the downloaded file to view the assessment results.


Download all results
- In the Gradebook grid view, click on the Gradebook Settings cog at the top right corner.
- In the Upload and download markbook section, click on the Download marks link.
- Select the marks to download. You can download the Full gradebook or the History of the marking. Ensure Full Gradebook is selected.
- Select the assessment(s) you wish to download under Record details.
- Toggle Include feedback for selected item to ensure feedback details are included in the download.
- Select the File type and Save location.
- Press Download.
- The result file contains the following information:
- Last name
- First name
- Username
- Student ID
- Last Access
- Availability
- [Assessment title] & Grade
- Marking notes
- Feedback to learner




Upload results
If you wish to do offline marking, you can download the Gradebook for the assessment item – using the steps above, add the grades, feedback in the spreadsheet and re-upload it to the Gradebook.
- Enter the grades under the [Assessment title] column, and the feedback under the Feedback to Learner column.
- You can format your feedback text using HTML tags if required.
- Save the file.
- the Gradebook grid view, click on the Gradebook Settings cog at the top right corner.
- To upload the marking spreadsheet, in the Upload and download markbook section, click on the Upload Markbook link.
- Drag and drop the file in the designated area or browse to select the file.
- Alternatively select Upload Local File.
- Press Upload.
- Refresh the Gradebook page to view the changes. The assessment now should have updated grades and feedback.
