How to attempt a Numbas Exam

Open the Numbas Exam

  1. Open the Blackboard Course that and locate your Numbas Exam (Test).
  2. Click on the name of the Exam to open it.

Review the Exam

Before starting the Numbas Exam, you will be given an overview of the number of questions and marks available.

Display options

The Numbas interface allows you some basic options for adjusting the display settings. This includes the background colour, text colour, and text size. Feel free to adjust these options if you wish.

When you’re ready to begin, click OK, then Start.

Completing a Numbas Exam

Once you’ve started the Exam you will be presented with the Numbas Exam.

  1. Read each question and enter your answer your answer in the text box.
  2. Click Submit part.
  3. Use the menu on the left-hand side to move to the next question. If you have multi-part questions you can add each answer then select a button labelled Submit all parts.
  4. When you have answered all questions, click End Exam.
  5. Click OK on the confirmation scree. if you’re happy to submit/.

Submission receipt

Once you’ve submitted your Numbas Exam you will be presented with a summary screen. This contains a confirmation message at the top of the page that includes a submission code. You may wish to keep a copy of this for future reference.

You can also print your results summary screen. Choosing Save as PDF for the printer will generate a digital file that you can also keep as a receipt.
