There may be occasions when you want to hide grades/feedback from students during the marking process. An example of this is when an assignment is set as anonymous. As Admins you want to remove the anonymity to download the results whilst still hiding marks and feedback from students.
Ensure that the Assignment submission point is “hidden” from students before you do this – this is very important!
Once students have all submitted – and before marking begins – go to the Turnitin submission point and change from “available to students to “hidden from students” using the drop down functionality. This is a very important step.

To reveal the names of students, go to Turnitin Settings to amend the Feedback Release Date (typically, this will be set way in the future to avoid any accidental releases) to today’s date and click Submit to save the changes.

Once the Feedback Release Date is brought forward, the anonymity will be removed from all the names. You can then download the column from the Grade Centre which will be used for Banner Marks Entry.
When you have decided to let the students see their Grades and Feedback change the Submission item from “Hidden from students” to “Visible to students”.
If you utilise the functionality of “Release conditions” on a submission item – you can make the item available from a certain date but you MUST remember to add an access until date, otherwise the students will see their marks.
Our best advice is to not use Release conditions but rely on making the submission points “visible” or “hidden” when you can see at a glance what the status of the item is.
